Back from Munich now - weather here is even hotter than it was in Germany. Flight home was a palava - I didn't think I'd make it so I actually rescheduled to the following morning. Then the meeting ended in time for me to get the S-Bahn back to the Flughafen und ich requested to re-reschedule the flight! Stress. It cost me 30€ in phone calls at the airport (I must get myself a mobile)....

Money worries again. Why is it that, despite my meticuolous planning, I always end up overdrawn at the end of the month?!?!?! I haven't had a pay-rise since March 2004, and whilst I'm awaiting exam results I don't suppose I'll get one. If I pass the exams, (and believe me - that is a really long shot, what with the pass rate being about 20%) I'd get a bit of an increase and a step up in the company car allowance. If I don't pass the exams (it is most likely I will not pass all four of them), there is no planned increase. We moved to this big house last August with a big-mortgage to match, and what with G taking maternity leave (her monthly income has just stooped to its lowest ever!) with no plan to work more, we are struggling!

Anyway, I've rationalised our direct debits, changed broadband supplier, changed phone supplier, cancelled gym subscriptions, cancelled SKY TV, held-off on getting a new (desparately needed!) bigger car, stopped buying clothes, stopped going out (not that we have time for that with the kids anyway!), postponed renovating the kitchen, cancelled pocket money to the kid's bank accounts, and I'm about to remortgage. what more can I do? Its just a case of "hope" for a pay-increase.

On another topic, can anyone identify the origin of the title of this blog "jub-jub"? A prize (not!) for the first correct answer!
